Keyspan Sight Reading
1–3
Unit 1 · Pulse and rhythm

How to practise

  1. Before playing, take ten seconds per exercise: key signature, time signature, starting hand position, anything unusual.
  2. Mute both hands, keep the metronome, and play through without stopping at a tempo you can sustain. Keep your eyes a little ahead of your hands.
  3. Turn the hands back on and listen to compare. Then turn the page; new music beats repeating old music.
  4. When a level feels easy at a steady tempo, move on. Come back to earlier levels in other keys from the settings.

Keys: Space play/stop · → or Page Down next page · ← or Page Up previous page · [ ] change level. A Bluetooth page-turn pedal works too, and in Chrome or Edge you can turn pages from a key or pedal on a MIDI keyboard (Settings).

Print or export

Every exercise fits the keys you set. Print a booklet or copy a score as ABC notation.
